The Taj Mahal is the gem of Angra, India.  A symbol of love and beauty, the Taj Mahal was built by the Turkish/Persian Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of Mumtaz Mahal, his favorite wife.  The architecture of this monumental structure combines Persian, Islamic and Ottoman styles and is often noted as the jewel of Islamic art.  It’s no surprise that millions flock from around the world to see this beautiful building.

While the sparkling white dome is the trademark of the Taj Mahal, walking to the inside of the dome is a one-of-a-kind, spiritual experience.  The main gateway is a marble arch that stretches up to half the height of the entire building, interlaced with leaves, vines, flowers and beautiful stones.  Inside the Taj is the tomb, a large marble structure that towers nearly 200 feet.
Outside of the Taj Mahal is the beautiful green Mughal garden.  The gardens are a rich carpet of green with flowers, fresh fruits, birds, leaves and more.  The gardens also contain beautiful fountains and walkways that allow you to stroll through the gardens for hours on end.
