DifferPeople travel different places for different reasons. The reasons can be personal, professional or religious. Academics travel to learn and explore places of their interest while businessmen travel for trade dealings. People often travel to far off places to visit their near and dear ones. Some people go on holy land tours to sacred places to purify their minds and hearts and for emotional and mental healing. But most importantly, and most commonly people travel for shear recreation to unwind themselves from daily boring routine life. Some of the popular tourist destinations include Zermatt in Switzerland, Vienna in Austria and Venice in Italy. Zermatt: Switzerland, the clichéd destination wonder of the world, but being a cliché is seldom bad and Zermatt is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places to see. Zermatt is found at the foot of the Matterhorn in the German-speaking canton of Valais in southern Switzerland. Located just 10 kilometres from the Italian border (Cervinia), you can go skiing in Switzerland in the morning, have lunch in Italy an hour later and be back in time for a tasty cheese fondue at Zermatt's oldest restaurant, the Café DuPont that evening.. Famed as “THE” mountaineering and ski destination of the Swiss Alps, however its most unique feature is its status of being a combustion engine car-free zone. Almost all vehicles in Zermatt are battery driven and almost completely silent. Also the Gornergratbahn, the highest open-air railway in Europe, runs up to the summit of the Gornergrat from Zermatt. Zermatt is pretty much the face of Switzerland we see on postcards, calendars, billboards and our drooling imaginations. Surrounded by many small villages, one can find the finest chocolates, the tastiest cheeses coupled with breathtaking views to be merely a stone’s throw away. Vienna: The architecture of Vienna is breathtaking. It was once the biggest empire in Europe. A trip to Vienna will enchant and surprise you. If you are interested in history you will not be able to wait for a peek inside the extravagant, architecturally breathtaking residences of the Hapsburgs. If you are music lover longing to immerse yourself in the regal metropolis where Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Schubert, Brahms and Strauss all made their home, a trip to Vienna will put you in good company at the very cafes where they all met. Vienna’s State Opera House is home to an impossible wealth of cultural history. It housed and debuted the works of countless legends. It is Vienna’s one of the most iconic sights and most important venue. Venice: Venice is a city built with sheer marvellous architecture and engineering. You'll be captivated by the glamour and elegance of Venice and its magnificent palaces and churches. The venetian red paintings, wine, music and fashion are a gift to the world. Although Venice is having the world’s most artistic masterpieces, people are still creating new art effects, lovely music and mouth watering food. A gondola ride with music and songs along the canals of Venice is a lifetime experience. |
